The Author

I am author of the book, "Fallen Pastor: Finding Restoration in a Broken World" from Civitas Press. I also contributed an essay to “The Practice of Love: Real Stories of Living Into the Kingdom of God,” under my pseudonym Arthur Dimmesdale. By trade, I am a certified athletic trainer.

I am keenly interested in the theme of redemption and seeing it play out in the Christian community. I'm also intrigued how tragedy affects Christians and how we view it in relationship with the cross. My theology is somewhere between Asahel Nettleton and Bruce Ware.

I'm originally from Arkansas but currently reside in Western Kentucky. I am a husband to my beautiful wife Allison, and a father to three.

How The Electoral College Works
college

Did anyone notice that a presidential election is about to happen? I know, right?

Did you know there’s a presidential election right around the corner? You couldn’t have guessed. It’s not like it’s in the news/ads/television/radio/blogs/internet or anything.

I just wanted to write a note real quick about a great podcast that you should be listening to called “Stuff You Should Know.” I’ve been listening to it for about six months or so and it has some great material.

I listened to one yesterday about the electoral college and how it affects the presidential elections. I had no idea. I thought I knew, but I didn’t. It goes into great detail about the history, some of the conflicts, and the nitty gritty of it all. Here is the direct link for listening online, but you can also go into iTunes and just search for “Stuff You Should Know.” The article is here if you want to read it.

Whether you’re a Libertarian, Republican, Democrat, Socialist, Green Party, or disinterested voter, it’s a great episode to listen to.

The podcast is run by Josh Clark and Charles Bryant. It’s a must listen to. I’ve learned more about shark attacks, beheadings, lobotomies, other faiths, the Musketeers, the economy, Scooby Doo, icebergs, roller derby, gas prices, oil spills and whatever by listening. Go check them out.
